Rob Dempsey Greenville SC Death, HIS Radio Station Manager And Host Died After Battling Cancer

Rob Dempsey, a resident of Greenville, South Carolina, and a Station Manager and Host of Rob & Lizz in the Morning has sadly passed away. He was announced dead through a social media statement that says “I am heartbroken for Rob Dempsey’s family and all of us who loved and served with the generosity, humble heart, and encouragement that Rob offered us.”

Who was Rob Dempsey?

Rob was someone you know from the Mornings. He was known to some as the 16-year-old who was evicted from his family and placed on the streets, to others as the man who shed 140 pounds to overcome his obesity, and to still others as a foster and adoptive parent. The children of Rob and his spouse include a 38-year-old war hero, a 27-year-old director of social media marketing.

He was a 22-year-old recent college graduate, and a 15-year-old adopted in November 2009. Additionally, a lot of foster children have been there for more than nine years. Everyone felt like the most important person in the room when they were around Rob. He talked candidly about his difficult upbringing and how it affected his health for the rest of his life.

About Rob Dempsey

He was homeless and struggling with alcohol and drug addiction as a teenager. He was contacted by a youth pastor who informed him about a Christian radio station. He switched on the station one evening as he was leaving a bar. He had abandoned life. “God loves you and He will never leave you nor forsake you,” the presenter on the air assured him. That night, he gave his life to Jesus.

The chance to remind people of that fact every day inspired him to pursue a career in radio. Prior to being called into the radio ministry, Rob was employed at the Home Shopping Network. He worked at their TV studios as a security guard.

Rob Dempsey obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
