Cardinal Staffing Services Flint Sales Representative and Award winning college hockey coach Brendan Ryan of Linden, Michigan has sadly passed away. He died after being involved in a deadly accident leaving those who knew him in shock He was confirmed dead through a publication that reads “To all family and friends of Brendan Ryan, we are saddened to inform the passing of my brother, son of Lynne Standley and Jimmy Ryan, and incredible friend, Brendan.”

He was a native of Livonia, Michigan, but found his home in Linden, Michigan. His journey began at Livonia Churchill High School, where he graduated in 2008, laying the groundwork for a career that would blend his love for design, sports, and service. Continuing his education, he studied Graphic Design at Schoolcraft College, completing his degree in 2010. This foundation in design would later play a pivotal role in his multifaceted career.

In 2015, he earned a degree in Sports Management from Grand Valley State University, an achievement that showcased his passion for athletics. This blend of creative and managerial skills set him apart in various roles he would undertake in the years to come.

Brendan Ryan Career

His professional journey commenced at USA Hockey Arena, where he immersed himself in the world of ice hockey, a sport that would define much of his career. Between September 2011 and January 2013, he served as a Zamboni driver at Georgetown Ice Arena in Allendale, Michigan. This role, while seemingly humble, highlighted his commitment to the sport and provided him with a unique perspective on the operations of ice facilities.

Following his stint as a Zamboni driver, he transitioned to a more managerial position as a Dispatcher at Grand Valley State University’s Pew & Health Campuses from 2013 to 2015. His organizational skills shone through as he coordinated various logistical operations, ensuring smooth communication across departments.

In 2015, he took on the role of Corporate Sales Representative at the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in Plymouth, Michigan. Here, he utilized his background in both sales and sports management, helping to promote and expand the reach of hockey programs across the nation. This position further solidified his expertise in sports marketing and corporate relations.

From 2018 to 2023, he took on the responsibilities of Head Coach for the Saginaw Valley State University Hockey team in Saginaw, Michigan. His leadership and coaching abilities not only developed young athletes but also fostered a culture of teamwork and excellence within the program. His time as a coach was marked by dedication, mentorship, and a drive to cultivate the next generation of hockey talent.

In addition to coaching, he expanded his professional horizons as an Executive Account Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. in Troy, Michigan, from June 2019 until June 2024. In this role, he honed his sales acumen and strategic planning skills, demonstrating his versatility in both the corporate and sports arenas.

His career journey also included positions as a Sales Representative at Cardinal Staffing Services in Flint and a Customer Service/Marketing & Sales Representative and Driver at Cintas Corporation. Each role added to his rich tapestry of experiences, showcasing his adaptability and dedication to serving others.
