Monica Wilson of Springdale, Maryland has sadly passed away. She died on Wednesday 23rd October 2024 leaving family and friends devastated. She was confirmed dead through a post “It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of Monica Wilson. Monica Wilson was the Sister of Bro Arvelle “Butchie” Howerton Jr, and was involved in a tragic car accident in Largo MD.”
The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 23, around 5:10 p.m., on the 500 block of Largo Center Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found 57-year-old Monica Wilson from Springdale, Maryland, suffering from critical injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Wilson was driving north on Largo Center Drive when, for reasons still unknown, another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed over the centerline, leading to a head-on collision. The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is receiving medical attention.
Witnesses reported seeing two passengers from the second vehicle flee the scene, adding an element of complexity to the ongoing investigation. The PGPD’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in their inquiries.
