Andrew Gregory Dalton, born October 29, 1987, is an American professional football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. Known as the “Red Rifle,” he played college football at TCU, where he became the school’s all-time leader in quarterback wins and won the 2011 Rose Bowl. Dalton was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
During his nine seasons with the Bengals, he led the team to five consecutive playoff appearances from 2011 to 2015 and earned three Pro Bowl selections. He set franchise records for passing touchdowns and yards, and made notable connections with wide receiver A. J. Green.
Despite regular season success, he struggled in the playoffs and was released in 2020 after a series of losing seasons. Dalton then played for the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints before joining the Panthers in 2023.
