Jonathan Nalikka New York NY Death:-Â Jonathan Nalikka, a Teaching Assistant for the Operating Systems course (COMS 4118) at Columbia University has passed away.
His death was confirmed by those close to him, and while the cause remains unreported, he is remembered fondly by many. Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this challenging time.
In his role at Columbia, Jonathan supported students through office hours, grading, and engagement on the discussion board, enhancing their learning experience while deepening his own understanding of operating systems and honing his mentorship and communication skills.
Jonathan was also an Undergraduate Researcher at York College, participating in a National Science Foundation-funded program where he collaborated with Professor Eric Ramos on a project focused on constructing infinite ideal chains in polynomial rings, culminating in a research paper.
His industry experience included an internship at NVIDIA, where he worked on GPU diagnostics and performance evaluation using Python, as well as software engineering roles at Amplify and HKP Solutions. In these positions, he contributed to significant projects, such as improving educational software and developing applications for housekeeping services.
