Simon Sassoon NYC Marathon Death:- A 24-year-old man, identified as Simon Sassoon, fell to his death from a third-story window in Williamsburg while watching the New York City Marathon on Sunday around 12:30 p.m.
He fell near South 6th Street and Bedford Avenue, where he was found unconscious and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities do not suspect foul play, but an investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses noted that the area is usually quiet, and the fall occurred near the 11th-mile checkpoint of the marathon, which attracted over 50,000 runners this year. Abdi Nageeye of the Netherlands and Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya won the men’s and women’s races, respectively.
