Amy Roeder cause of death

An instructor at a Woodstock elementary school was one of the three fatalities in a significant collision that occurred Sunday afternoon in the far northwest suburbs. According to McHenry County officials, the collision occurred in the 13400 block of Davis Road in unincorporated Woodstock at approximately 12:02 p.m. Parts of the cars were still strewn over the road on Monday as friends and family went to the disaster scene to lay flowers and other mementos.

According to witnesses, a Volvo SUV carrying two additional persons was struck head-on by two passengers in a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The 47-year-old Roeder taught at Westwood Elementary School, which is close to the scene of the collision.

Her daughter, a seventh-grader at another district school, was evacuated to a Maywood hospital after suffering severe injuries. According to investigators, the Dodge driver was trying to pass another vehicle over a hill in a no-passing zone. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the Hellcat operator’s speed and careless driving are thought to have played a role in the collision. The Dodge caught fire on the side of the road following the collision.

According to a neighbour, he tried to assist the two individuals inside in leaving, but the fire prevented him from approaching too closely. One of the two people slain in the Dodge, according to friends, was an 18-year-old former Harvard High School student. Westwood Elementary School staff and kids are meeting with counsellors. The crash is currently being looked into by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

Amy Roeder obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
