A murder-suicide that claimed the lives of a husband and wife in Tampa is being looked into by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say they rushed to the 2800 block of Cedaridge Drive on Friday just after 9 p.m. after learning that a lady was missing and that someone was worried about her safety. Investigators discovered that 31-year-old Franklin Vegas Delgado called a family member and claimed to have slain his wife.
Detectives say they discovered 28-year-old Waleska Gomez Barroeta dead in a car parked at 815 Water Street in downtown Tampa about midnight on Saturday. Vegas Delgado left the car where the victim was found and walked out of the parking area, according to HCSO. Detectives report that they discovered Vegas Delgado at the Marriott Waterside Hotel, 505 Water Street, Tampa, around 1:20 a.m. with injuries he had caused himself. The inquiry is still under progress.
