Jack Davey Death:- Jack Davey, an 11-year-old student at Auburn South Primary School in Melbourne has passed away. He died when a car crashed through the school’s fence on Tuesday afternoon. Jack was sitting with four other students when the incident occurred. Despite being transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead en route.
Jack is remembered as a cherished member of local sports clubs, including the Titans Junior Basketball Club and the Glen Iris Gladiators Football Club, which, along with a community fundraiser, is supporting his family through this difficult time.
The accident left four other children injured, all of whom remain in stable condition in the hospital. The school principal, Marcus Wicher, expressed deep sympathy for the affected families, and Education Minister Ben Carroll visited the school to show support.
Counseling services and additional staff from neighboring schools have been provided to support students, families, and staff. The 40-year-old driver of the vehicle, who had just picked up her child from the school, reportedly may have experienced a medical episode before losing control of the car.
She was taken into custody for questioning but released pending further investigation. Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and local police Inspector Craig McEvoy extended condolences, emphasizing the impact of this tragedy on the entire community.
Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are ongoing.
