Jakwon Hill, Zion McClendon and Quantavious Bicks Death, 3 killed in car crash possibly involved in Albany State University shooting

The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said the tragic mass shooting at Albany State University last weekend may have involved three people who perished in an early Sunday morning automobile incident in Albany. The shooting on the university’s campus on the evening of Saturday, October 19, left one person dead and four others wounded, according to officials.

De’Marion Tayshawn Daniels, 19, of Newnan, was confirmed as the deceased victim by Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler. Daniels was not a student at Albany State, according to the Georgia Bureau of inquiry (GBI), which is in charge of the inquiry. According to the GBI, the other four injured included a 20-year-old woman, two high school students, and a 13-year-old child from Albany.

Authorities said that a single-vehicle collision in Albany’s 300 block of South Magnolia Street on Sunday morning claimed the lives of three people. Fowler claims that the three people that perished were inside the white Mercedes Benz. They took the driver to the hospital. According to Fowler, the crash claimed the lives of 18-year-old Jakwon Hill, 20-year-old Zion McClendon, and a 17-year-old Quantavious Bicks.

The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reported that troopers attempted to stop the Mercedes after observing it driving at 75 mph in a 40 mph zone, but the vehicle continued to move. Around 1:45 a.m., according to Fowler, the vehicle crossed the railroad track at Magnolia Street and Broad Avenue, flew into the air, collided with a telephone pole and a tree, and was ripped to pieces. The car’s three occupants were thrown out.

According to GSP, the motorist was still in the driver’s seat when the troopers arrived on the scene. They had facial and head injuries when they were brought to the hospital. At this time, their condition is unknown. During a search of the Mercedes, loaded guns were discovered, according to GSP.

Jakwon Hill and Zion McClendon obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the their families at a later date.
