Jayme Sykes Colac Death, James Farquhar arrested after barber died in Geelong stabbing

Jayme Sykes of Geelong has sadly passed away. He died at the age of on Sunday 28th October 2024 after a fatal stabbing. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, occurred during an altercation between two groups outside a venue on Little Malop Street.

Police were alerted to the situation around 5:30 AM, where they found Sykes with multiple stab wounds. Despite the immediate medical attention he received and being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Two other men involved in the incident also sought medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have interviewed these men, along with another individual who was present with Sykes during the altercation, as part of their ongoing investigation.

As of now, no charges have been filed, and police have not provided clarity on whether the questioned individuals are considered suspects or if they are actively seeking additional persons of interest.
