Mikail Rashid Toronto ON Death: – A 17-year-old boy has died following a deadly shooting incident that happened in Aurora on Wednesday night. The victim has been identified as Mikail Rashid. According to reports, Mikail Rashid passed away from injuries sustained in a police-involved shooting.

What happened to Mikail Rashid?

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is looking into a police-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy in Aurora on Wednesday night. According to the SIU, a call was made to police around 7:45 p.m. reporting a break-in at a residence on Downey Circle.

Shortly after York Regional Police officers arrived, gunfire erupted between the 17-year-old and four police officers. The teen was struck multiple times and died at the scene. One officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

SIU spokesperson Monica Hudon stated that the unit has assigned five investigators and three forensic experts to the case. She noted that four officers who discharged their weapons have been designated as subject officers, along with five witness officers.

Hudon also mentioned that police are working to determine the identity of the individual who reported the break-in. “We’re trying to ascertain who made that call, when, and why; this is part of the SIU’s investigation,” she said.
