The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the victim of a tragic one-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday on Interstate 35. The deceased is Rebecca Ann Peterson, a 41-year-old woman from Duluth. According to the State Patrol, Peterson was driving a Honda Pilot northbound when she lost control of the vehicle near County Road 61, at the boundary between Carlton and St. Louis counties. The car veered off the road, collided with a cluster of trees, and ultimately came to a stop in a wooded area south of the freeway.
Rebecca Peterson was a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) and a valued member of the St. Luke’s Community Care Team. Her dedication to healthcare was evident through her educational background; she earned her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Peterson had a particular passion for family practice and geriatrics, emphasizing her commitment to serving diverse patient populations.
