She left her career in the law to compete on the UK’s MasterChef 2013, and then trained as a pastry chef at Tom Kitchin’s Michelin-starred restaurant The Kitchin.
Rukmini Iyer is the bestselling author of The Roasting Tin series, selling over 1.5 million copies to date worldwide. Working in food and on her feet all day, she realised that the meals she made when she got home grew simpler – often in just one roasting tin – and that there were ways of packing flavour and interest into the dishes with an absolute minimum of effort. This became the inspiration for her bestselling books.
When she’s not writing cookbooks, Rukmini styles food and writes recipes for numerous brands and publications including The Guardian, Waitrose and Fortnum and Mason, and works as a home economist for television commercials and feature films. Rukmini lives with her partner Tim, their daughter and border collie in London, and enjoys entertaining (both people and the dog), gardening and interior design. She supports the charities Women’s Aid, Refuge, Shelter, Crisis & The Dog’s Trust.
